Co-Facilitator of Support Groups
Hahra is a co-facilitator of the Katoomba support group. They are a Mental Health advocate, mentor to young LGBTQA+SB (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Asexual/Agender/Ally + Sistergirl and Brotherboy [Australain Aboriginal gender variant descriptor]) people who have Lived Experience of Suicide and are beginning their advocacy journey, a specialist therapeutic yoga teacher with a specific focus on grief, trauma-informed practice, mental health and diversity + inclusion. They have worked in yoga programs with NSW Health and NSW Justice, PHaMs, Neami National and Switchboard Victoria.
They owned and ran a yoga studio in Sydney for a number of years where grief, loss, adaptability of yoga to emotional and physical needs were the focus. They are a Lived Experience Peer Worker in Mental Health and Suicide.
Hahra was a founding member of the Blue Mountains Safe Space for Suicide Prevention through Roses in the Ocean in 2022-23 after residing in the area for several years. They now live on the Mid-North Coast of NSW on Gumbaygniirr Country. Hahra is dedicated to nurturing the variety in human experience and is a firm believer in the power of community and connection to help us through challenging times in life. They believe in death literacy and through this literacy the opportunity to begin to own our deaths and our lives and live in greater empowerment supporting each other to live with connectedness and joy.
